Atlases
In this rubric you can find a selection of topographic and thematic atlases on Bavaria as well as maps of Bavaria from important national atlases. The atlases by Johann Stridbeck, Gabriel Bodenehr and J. B. Roost have been completely digitised.
Worth mentioning are the maps of Bavaria from the atlases of Homann and Seutter. The Nuremberg cartographer Johann Baptist Homann (1664-1724) was a cartographer at the court of Charles VI (1685-1740). Matthäus Seutter (1678-1757) from Augsburg was apprenticed to him. Homann produced the "Great Atlas uber die Gantze Welt" from 1716.
The Austrian Franz Johann Joseph von Reilly (1766-1820) published the atlas "Schauplatz der fünf Theile der Welt", which covers Europe on 830 pages.
Among others, digitized maps of Bavaria from these atlases can be found in this offer.
