Sources on Bavarian agricultural and economic policy

The collection shows a cross-section of the archival material from Bavarian companies and business organisations kept at the Bayerisches Wirtschaftsarchiv. One focus is the area of company advertising, namely catalogues, brochures and company letterheads. Other topics also include the malt consumption of individual Munich breweries in the last quarter of the 19th century, the aspect of working conditions and corporate culture at the turn of the 20th century and the spread of electricity in the 1920s.

The development of the Eisenwerk-Gesellschaft Maximilianshütte as Bavaria's most important industrial mining company is reflected in the minutes of the Board of Directors and the annual general meeting from 1853 to 1885. The Munich carpenters' orders from 1537 to 1631 and the Augsburg Kaufleutestubengesellschaft's minute books started in 1541, provide insight into the work of professional business organisations in the early modern period. The meeting minutes from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Upper Bavaria from 1869 to 1873 document examples of the representation of the business economy's interests in the industrial age.
