Photo archive Georg Fruhstorfer
In the archive of the Munich journalist and photographer Georg Fruhstorfer (1915–2003) are photos of:
- post-war Munich, on the phase of rebuilding and in particular on everyday life
- reports about the societal and economic life in Munich
- exclusive features about VIPs. These form their own genre since the 1970s as part of the nascent tabloid press. The photos are complemented by the respective original reports. These reports have not yet been digitised for legal reasons but may be consulted in the Lesesaal Musik, Karten und Bilder (reading room music, maps and pictures).
The archive comprises c.19,000 b/w as well as colour photos. Over 16,000 images have been catalogued and digitised as well as searchable on bavarikon.
