Photo Archive Helmut Silchmüller
The photographer Helmut Silchmüller (1906–1980) conducted together with his wife a photographical shop in the Munich Hohenzollernstraße. His archive comprises over 2,000 exposures. They show Munich before and after WWII as well as witness journeys through Bavaria, Austria and Italy during the 1950s. Thereby, the images are an interesting testimonial of the mobility regained during the 1950s. One album documents the development of the photography shop up to 1970.
