The estate of Paul Hermann Tesdorpf (1858–1936) and Therese Tesdorpf-Sickenberger (1853–1926) – Tesdorpfiana

The estate of the Tesdorpf family mainly includes the literary bequests of Paul Hermann Tesdorpf (1858–1936) and of his wife Therese Sickenberger-Tesdorpf (1853–1926). It also contains the crypto-estate of Louise Tesdorpf (1835–1919), the mother of Paul Hermann.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Paul Hermann Tesdorpf was a neurologist in Munich and a member of the German Monist Union. In 1918, he published a treatise on the mental illness afflicting Wilhelm II (1859-1941), but Tesdorpf was also active as a poet, for example with the series of poems "Der Schleier der Maja" (The Veil of Maya) which appeared in 1926.

Therese, his wife, was a writer, translator and pioneer of women’s education.
