Music manuscripts at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek -

The music manuscripts contain predominantly monophonic music up to the year 1500 as well as a few codices with polyphonic music. The "Buxheimer Orgelbuch" (Buxheim Organ Book) ( 3725), the magnificent manuscripts made by Hans Mielich (1516-1573) of the "Bußpsalmen" (Penitential Psalms) by Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594) ( A I and II and their explanatory volumes) and the "Motetten" (Motets) by Cipriano de Rore (1516-1564) ( B with explanatory volume) are important. One interesting group within the music manuscripts are the choir books ( 6 and F), among which the C, a choir book with masses from the Josquin period, must particularly be emphasised.
