Music manuscripts at the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek - Mus.ms.

The music manuscripts Mus.ms. contain predominantly monophonic music up to the year 1500 as well as a few codices with polyphonic music. The "Buxheimer Orgelbuch" (Buxheim Organ Book) (Mus.ms. 3725), the magnificent manuscripts made by Hans Mielich (1516-1573) of the "Bußpsalmen" (Penitential Psalms) by Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594) (Mus.ms. A I and II and their explanatory volumes) and the "Motetten" (Motets) by Cipriano de Rore (1516-1564) (Mus.ms. B with explanatory volume) are important. One interesting group within the music manuscripts are the choir books (Mus.ms. 6 and Mus.ms. F), among which the Mus.ms. C, a choir book with masses from the Josquin period, must particularly be emphasised.
