The Staatsgalerie Neuburg (Neuburg State Gallery) in the Residenzschloss in Neuburg an der Donau presents about 120 paintings of the Flemish Baroque, e.g. works by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), Anthonis van Dyck (1599-1641) and Jan Brueghel (1568-1625).
The renaissance castle was built in 1505 by Count Palatine Ottheinrich (1502-1559) as the residence of the principality Palatinate-Neuburg. The baroque east wing was added between 1665 and 1670.
The Staatsgalerie Neuburg is affiliated to the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen (Bavarian State Paintings Collections).
