Beschreibung

Johann Georg Lori's (1723-1787) "Sammlung des baierischen Bergrechts" ("Compendium of the Bavarian mining law") is a direct result of his activities as a councillor in the "Münz- und Bergkollegium" (Aagency for coinCoin-minting Minting and mining Mining lawLaw). This work plays a special role among his other works of the 1760s, since it also contains an explanatory introduction besides the extensive collection of deeds. The concept was to compile a collection of legal texts, but due to the sovereign's right to all minable resources ("Bergregal"), Lori's print at the same time represents a rich source regarding the economic history of Old Bavaria. It covers not only mining, but also the wood supply to the mines and salt mines, the salt trade and the metal-working hammer factories. The 318 represented sources from the period between 1285 and 1764 refer to the territory of the duchy and the electorate of Bavaria (including the Upper Palatinate), partly also Tyrol, the archbishopric of Salzburg and the prince provestry of Berchtesgaden.
