Universitätsbibliothek der LMU München

Description

The parchment manuscript, composed in an early-Carolingian minuscule and dated to ca. 800-825, came from the property of the jurist, ducal secretary and archivist Christoph Gewold (1556-1621), whose library the University Library Ingolstadt received in 1621. It is the oldest preserved manuscript of the collection of laws of the bairische Stammesherzogtum/Bavarian tribal duchy and originated in the south-eastern Bavaria, possibly in the Benedictine monastery Weltenburg. Datum: 2016
