The Heimatverein Krumbach e.V.

As part of the general enthusiasm for national and regional history from the late 19th century onwards, art and everyday objects from the past were collected in the district of Krumbach from 1908 for a proposed local history museum. In 1932, the "Heimatverein für den Bezirk Krumbach e.V." (Krumbach District Local History Society) was founded. The primary task of the association, which has been operating under the name "Heimatverein Krumbach e.V." (Krumbach Local History Society e.V.) since 2009, is to promote awareness of history, art and culture in the town, the surrounding area and the Central Swabian region, as well as research and science relating to these topics.

Founded in 2009, the Kulturkreis Fischach K.e.r.n. (Fischach Cultural Association K.e.r.n.) supports the promotion and preservation of the diverse cultural life in the market town of Fischach. The abbreviation ‘K.e.r.n.’ stands for ‘remember, save, re-live culture’. The association is active in the fields of art, music and history, including the commemoration of the long coexistence of Christians and Jews in Fischach.

Fischach is located in the Swabian district of Augsburg and became a market town in 1952. Today, the municipality, which is made up of 13 parts, has around 5,000 inhabitants.

The municipality of Hainsfarth is located around 1.5 kilometres north-east of the town of Oettingen in the Bavarian-Swabian district of Donau-Ries and is a member of the administrative community of Oettingen in Bavaria. On 1 January 1976, the municipality of Steinhart and its districts of Hasenmühle and Ziegelhütte were incorporated as a result of the territorial reform.

Monheim, which had existed since the 7th or 8th century, was elevated to the status of a town in the 14th century. After changing ownership, it was incorporated into the newly founded Principality of Palatinate-Neuburg in 1505 and finally merged into the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1808.

The municipality of Fellheim is located in the Unterallgäu and is a member of the Boos administrative community. The village, first mentioned in a document in 1273, became the property of Baron Sebastian Reichlin von Meldegg, who received the Kempten fief of Fellheim and built a Renaissance castle there in 1557. The family ruled the estate until 1848.

The Archiv der Stadt Krumbach (Schwaben) (Archive of the city of Krumbach (Swabia)) have an extensive stock of written documents, deeds and council and protocol books, going back to 1418. The town also has a very extensive image archive, arranged according to the categories "Chronicle" (current events), "Streets and Houses" (before - after) and "People" as well as numerous individual subjects such as bridges/bridges, water supply, castles, churches, etc. The municipal image archive is bolstered by the extensive stock of a local, long-established photography firm.

The Archiv Markt Altenstadt (Markt Altenstadt Archive - formerly Markt Illereichen-Altenstadt) contains a wide variety of documents, photos and other valuable records on the local history of Illereichen and Altenstadt. Since the districts of Bergenstetten, Dattenhausen, Filzingen, Herrenstetten and Untereichen were incorporated, the records of the mayor's offices formerly located there are also stored in Altenstadt's archives, insofar as they exist. Some of the documents date back to the 17th century.
The Gemeinde Binswangen

The small town of Binswangen (today in the district of Dillingen a. d. Donau), founded around AD 800, was first mentioned in a document in 1182. Until 1300, the village was a subject of the Duke of Swabia, after which it became part of Anterior Austria and the Margraviate of Burgau. After the Second World War, the municipality enjoyed a period of continuous development. The town has transformed itself from a farming village to a residential community. As a result of the structural change in agriculture, the cultivation of the land is increasingly concentrated on a few larger farms. Today, Binswangen is an independent municipality with 1,370 inhabitants and belongs to the Wertingen administrative community.

Mönchsdeggingen is located in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries. The Reformation was introduced in the village in the 16th century under the rule of the House of Oettingen-Oettingen. Today, the Protestant-Lutheran parish of the village consists of the individual parishes of Mönchsdeggingen with St. George’s church and Untermagerbein with St. Nicholas’ church. The parish of Mönchsdeggingen is responsible for both.

The Archiv der Stadt Harburg (Archive of the Town of Harburg, Swabia) preserves the records of the city proper as well as of nine incorporated districts. The archival records include council minutes, documents, official books, annual accounts and cash accounts, cash books of the various foundations and correspondence on all topics concerning the municipalities.
