Finckh: S. Rom. Imperii Circuli et Electoratus Bavariae, 1684

For many years, Georg Philipp Finckh (1608-1679) collected data and documents for a revision of Apian's Landtafeln. He updated the settlements. He expanded the maps to include the Upper Palatinate and Northern Franconia and amended the borders of Bavaria. Until 1664, he produced from 28 sheets a general map on a scale of 1:270,000.

Only after Finckh's death the work was engraved in copper in 1684 and published by his eponymous son. Today, the copper plates are located in the archive of the Landesamt für Digitalisierung, Breitband und Vermessung (Bavarian State Agency for Digitization, High-Speed Internet and Surveying) in Munich.
