Baronial diploma, 1815

StadtAN, E29/I, 1006
The Nuremberg patrician family von Tucher is admitted to the baronial class, 1815

With the award of this baronial diploma to [Jakob] Gottlieb Friedrich Tucher (1780-1832) as representative of the older line of the dynasty and Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Tucher (1736-1817) as representative of the younger line as well as to their respective descendants, King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria confirmed on 16 April 1815 both the admission of the entire dynasty to the kingdom’s baronial class and the right to continue the well-known coat of arms.

The text of the deed lists, among other things, the family’s "noble estates". In addition, the family had "established a praiseworthy memory" in Nuremberg "through honorary positions and rich endowments". There is also a "nobility transcending human memory", since the family is part of the imperial knighthood and "has also used the honorary title of Freyherren" for quite some time.

This officially sealed the Tucher family’s membership in the patrician ruling class of the imperial city of Nuremberg, which had existed since the 14th century after its transfer to Bavaria, and confirmed their equal status with nobility. The kingdom proceeded accordingly with all the old patrician families of Nuremberg that were still flourishing.
