Interior design for the wood carving school in Oberammergau

The "Schnitzschule" (wood carving school) in Oberammergau was built between 1908 and 1910. Zell designed the building for artistic needs and for teaching.

The interior designed by Zell is still preserved today. Extensive renovations were carried out inside the school in 2011 and 2012. These were carried out carefully and did not interfere with Zell’s interior concept.

After all, the architect Franz Zell had planned and designed every detail here: the entrance doors, the interior rooms’ doors, the central staircase, the staircase’s painted ceiling, the headmaster’s room, the students’ cloakroom lockers.
