Ceremony for the expansion in 1932

In 1932, thirty years after Zell's first job for the Städtisches Museum in Rosenheim, the second major redesign and expansion took place. Zell could now use the entire second floor of the Mittertor for museum purposes. On 21 May 1932, the newly established Städtisches Museum was reopened with 17 exhibition rooms.

The redesign was celebrated with a ceremony. Rosenheim's prominent political and civic figures were invited. Not only the exhibition organiser Franz Zell travelled from Munich, but Oskar von Miller (1855 - 1934) also came to the ceremony. Franz Zell worked with von Miller for many years on the construction and furnishing of the Deutsches Museum in Munich.

Franz Zell, then 66 years old, is sitting in the front row (third from left). Oskar von Miller (front row, fifth from the right) is sitting next to the Mayor of Rosenheim.
