Zeitzeugeninterview mit Dr. Gabriele Weishäupl (Ausschnitt)

Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte

Description

In this interview excerpt, Dr Gabriele Weishäupl (Tourism director of the City of Munich from 1985 to 2012 and head of the city's folk festivals and markets) talks about the new priorities she set for the Munich Oktoberfest in the course of her work as Tourism Director and Wiesn Head.

The Haus der Bayerischen Geschichte (House of Bavarian History) has been conducting a contemporary witness project since 1986. Meanwhile, the HdBG has a large stock of contemporary witness interviews, which are available as video films and audio documents. The interviews are conducted with people that are part of Bavarian contemporary history because of their life, their professional activities or the functions they held. Prominent personalities from politics, business, culture or science have their say as well as unknown people. The interviews are based on life histories, but always focus on a particular subject.

The internet portal “Zeitzeugen berichten” (Contemporary Witnesses Report) lists the contemporary witness interviews of the HdBG. The constantly growing stock of interviews can be browsed according to numerous search options such as name, topic or free search term. Each interview is presented with a two- to three-minute excerpt, a brief summary of the content and a biography of the contemporary witness.
